Ghanaians To Discuss The Future Of Their Country On May Day

Thousands of Ghanaians will converge in the German city of Bielefeld on May Day (1ST May) in what is expected to be one of the biggest gathering of Ghanaians to discuss the future direction of their Country.

The meeting which is part of a year-long programme of activities code-named ‘Recapture Power and Rebuild Ghana’ and put together by NPP-Germany aims at sensitizing and mobilising support for the party in the December 7 election in Ghana.

According Mr Charles Ankamah, Deputy General Secretary, NPP-Germany, the meeting will enable the party to explain its vision, policies and programmes to Ghanaians resident abroad while providing an opportunity for them to seek clarifications on matters of national interest so as not to fall victim to the empty propaganda and vain promises of the Mills-Mahama administration. Mr Ankamah explained that the only way to strengthen and deepen democratic culture and governance is to build an informed and vigilant electorate so as to enable them make the right political choices adding that the NPP will not relent in its efforts in informing and educating the electorate on what it stands for and believes in.

He reiterated the Party’s determination and commitment to focus and concentrate on articulating its vision of providing free senior secondary education, job creation, modernization of the economy and fighting corruption in government and added that a deliberate attempt is being made by the NDC propaganda machinery to divert attention from government failure to deliver on its own promises, unprecedented corruption within government and the abysmal performance of the NDC government.

Mr Ankamah pointed out that the precarious state of Ghana’s economy requires tried, tested and competent hands with a clear vision and sense of purpose to get the country out of the current economic mess saying’ Fortunately, this is what the Akuffo-Addo-Bawumia ticket offers’.
