Inaugural and Swearing-in Ceremony of NDC Stuttgart Branch.

The inaugural and swearing-in ceremony of the National Democratic Congress- NDC, Stuttgart Branch in Germany took place on last Saturday, 12th March 2011.

The General Secretary, Mr Alexander Okai Anane, welcomed the Interim Chairman of NDC Europe and Chairman of NDC Switzerland Chapter, Mr Albert Kwasi Kumah Adzayi and other distinguished guest.

During his opening remarks, the Chairman elect of NDC Stuttgart Branch, Mr Daniel Dake expressed his appreciation to the interim executives, whose tireless efforts led to the solid establishment and revival of the party in and around Stuttgart, Germany and Europe at large. NDC Stuttgart will among others, continue to aim at fostering unity amongst Ghanaians living in and around Stuttgart, he added.

Nana Kwame Bridges Arhin, the Patron and outgoing interim Chairman, said the challenges in the course of establishing the NDC-Stuttgart Branch had been many but the strong commitment, sacrifice and endurance of dedicated men and women enabled the party to stand firm against the storms from all sides and brought it safely and solid ashore. He implored all Akatamansonians and sundry to put their hands on deck so that come 2012, NDC-Stuttgart, will make and leave a permanent mark on the political landscape of Ghana. The inauguration of the party, he said, is just the beginning of greater demands on our time, treasured talents and resources. He appealed to all to continue to contribute our quota diligently to uplift the image of our great party in the days ahead.

In his address, the Chairman of NDC Europe, Mr Albert Adzayi congratulated the outgoing interim Chairman and the entire branch members saying that even though their branch was not inaugurated, they have committed themselves to the party and have made special contribution that helped the party to come back to power. That NDC Europe will continue to support activities of all NDC branches in other European countries in order to build a strong network in support of the party back home. After swearing-in the executives, he advised them to remain steadfast, faithful and true to the call they have just responded. He implored all and sundry to fulfil their responsibilities by paying off their membership dues, attend regular meetings and support the branch and the mother party back in Ghana in any other ways that they can. Mr Adzayi advised the executives to identify action plans with a clear vision and set agenda for the branch and maintain a disciplined course to see the set goals accomplished.

The Chairman of NPP Stuttgart Branch and the General Secretary of NPP German Chapter, Mr Kwaku Appiah, in his courtesy remarks, mentioned the importance of unity amongst Ghanaians, especially Diasporas, in putting the national interest ahead of us and remembering that we are friends, brothers and same people with same goals and interest despite our political differences.

The ceremony was crowned with an extravagant dinner with varieties of delicious Ghanaian dishes and Ghanaian Party Music.
