3G Magazine Successful Launching in New York

New York, NY -- New Yorkers and Ghanaian communities at large had been anticipating the launching of the new international magazine; 3G. The event took place in grand style at the church hall of Christ United Methodist Church and was beautifully decorated by the heavyweight Heavenly Jic Inc.(owned by the magnificent couple Ike & Alberta Donkor of Bronx, NY). Nana Abaidoo Acquah IV, Tufuhene of Abeadze traditional area (Mankesim-Central Region) known in private life as Mr.George Kuntu Blankson, an attorney and a traditional chief chaired the function. He wore a majestic cloth very fit for the occasion.

Mr. Charles Nimmo Ntiamoah-Mensah aka Mr. CNN, Chief Executive Officer (CEO)of 3G Media Inc. and Publisher of 3G magazine in his official address talked about the excitement surrounding the launching of 3G as a fulfillment of a dream and a reality; "On the heels of Barack Obama historically being elected the first African American US President, one magazine is about to be launched. It's been a long time coming and at this defining moment, I stand here today to tell you, that 3G is my American dream". He talked about a severe car accident which almost claimed his life and the vision behind the magazine. He later introduced his powerful 3G team.

Mr. Kofi Boateng, Chief Operating Officer of Africa American Institute commended the Publisher for a good job done. He reminded the audience when the Publisher as a Photojournalist teamed up with Ghanaweb and featuring Ghanaian events. He said the publisher was a hard working individual who travels all over the world to get his job done. Since he always saw Mr. CNN in New York, he assumed he lived in New York but was shocked to find out he lived in Philadelphia, PA. "That hard work paved the way for coming up with a magazine and with a dream like that, he might get his own TV station in the future". He encouraged the audience to follow the footsteps of the next President of US, Barack Obama who had a dream and pursued it.

In a brief address by the chairman, he urged Ghanaians to support 3G to make it successful. He stated that when he was invited, he quickly accepted the invitation because he did not want to miss the occasion.

Ms Annette Adu and Papa Linc were the MCs. The players of new soccer hotshots; Chelsea FC, Bronx, NY led by its Chief Operating Officer; Alex Kwapong. Their disciplined behavior impressed Mr. Blankson who encouraged them to maintain such behavior.

Ike Donkor was the overseer of the launching. Mr. Tony Brobbey of Bank of New York, Mellon made history as the buyer of the first issue for $500.00 and Mr. Owusu Kizito of Investigroup, 3G partner/Sponsor also bought the second issue for $350.

The Publisher autographed all the copies bought at the launching and he sincerely extended his gratitude on behalf of the 3G team to all attendees who bought the magazine and also 3G T.Shirts which went fast like hotcakes.

The Publisher also was presented with a check from the Executive of Ghanaians Association of Westchester (GAW) led by its President, Mr. Papa Yaw Brifu. Also in attendance were Ms. Rose Quarshie, Executive Secretary General and executives of NCOGA as well as the former ESGs, Thomas Mensah and Alhaji Mardah. Other NCOGA members including Atta Amoyaw, Patrick Gyan, Jonas Amoako and Rhoda Ocansey were also in attendance.
