"I honestly didn't expect to win!" confessed the former Walton High sixth-former, who was persuaded to enter the competition by her parents; Suzanne and Daniel.

"I didn't want to enter at first. It was all a bit scary. But then I thought it would be fun and give me a chance to meet new people, so I decided to give it a try." She continued.

Rhema who lives in Walnut Tree, had to spend 10 weeks rehearsing for the prestigious London show, which was shown on TV3 (4syte show in Ghana) and OBE TV in the UK .

She said; "We had to practice our walk, our speeches and we each had to demonstrate a talent from different regions of Ghana.

"I chose tribal dancing from the Upper West region and, because I've always done ballet, it wasn't too difficult."

Rhema was selected as one of the 15 finalists from auditions all over the country and had to travel to London for the grand finals.

She has always been interested in charity work and, as Miss Ghana UK 2007, she would be expected to visit Ghana regularly to work with children's charities.

In the end she said; "I'm really looking forward to that, I will also have to attend lots of events in London as an ambassador for Ghana, so it's going to be a really busy year. I'm looking forward to it though - and I'm glad I entered now."

The Miss Ghana UK Promoter; Mr. Dennis Tawiah said; "This year's show was different as we had to introduce the talent show for the girls to perform, which I think did very well and also made the show colourful. Rhema won herself; 2 Tickets to Ghana (courtesy of Ghana Tours), Woodin clothing, Blazin Gear clothing and sponsorship from Western Union and ADB Bank.
