...Police End Phase One of Operation “Leaving Willingly”
Tel Avivi, Israel, Oct.7, -- Immigration authorities have marked the end of two months since the implementation of Operation “Leaving Willingly”, aimed at encouraging illegals to leave the country on their own to avoid being deported.

Today, a second plane left for Ghana, and then will make a final landing in Nigeria. 250 illegal foreigners were on board, taking advantage of the police offer, permitting them time to prepare their belongings and pack, and avoid the stigma of being expelled.

Police report to date 900 foreigners took advantage of the offer to leave willingly and by the end of the month another 400 persons are scheduled to leave.

On 10 October, phase two begins with police moving in and beginning to make arrests.
