Atlanta Ghana SDA has new pastor

THE OLD ORDER CHANGETH...YIELDING PLACE TO NEW ATLANTA GHANA SDA CHURCH INAUGURATES A NEW PASTOR

The officers of Georgia-Cumberland Conference of SDA Church will on sabbath September 08, 2007 instal a new shepherd for Atlanta Ghana SDA Church. Pastor Gabriel Boakye Dankwa, a former Vice-President for the West African Division of SDA has accepted a call to provide spiritual directions for our church members in Atlanta and also to mobilize them for aggressive evangelism among the thousands of Ghanaian immigrants domicile in Atlanta metropolis and its neighborhoods.

Recently we asked Pastor Boakye Dankwa to furnish us his biographical and denominational resume. He kindly agreed and sent us in his own words who he is. I would like to pass it on to you all unedited as part of our efforts to get proper acquainted with the "new labourer" who is now joining our ranks as CORCOM pastor. In his own words Pastor Gabriel Boakye Dankwa writes...

"My full name is GABRIEL BOAKYE-DANKWA. Born on August 10, 1950 at Kona, in the Kwabre District of the Ashanti Region. I started Denominational work in 1976 at Advent Press. I attended Canadian Union University, and Caribbean Union University for a double Bachelors degree in Theology and History. I then proceeded to the Andrews University to obtain a Master of Divinity Degree.

>From 1989 I served as Union Publishing Director at the then WAUM for six years. At the same time, I served as Church Pastor for some Churches in Accra, notably Labone and Burma Camp SDA Churches. In 1995 I was voted to serve as Division Publishing Director at the then Africa-Indian Ocean Division. At that same period I also served as Church Pastor for the Marcory SDA Church in Abidjan. In 2000, I was voted to serve as Field Secretary(vice president) responsible for Evangelism, Global Mission, and Satellite Evangelism. I have conducted many Evangelistic Campaigns in all the Division territory since 1990 and brought thousands to the Church. I have organised and coordinated big Satellite Campaigns that have also brought thousands. For example, the last Satellite Campaign I organised at the Independence Square in Accra brought more than Thirteen Thousand new souls to the Church in Ghana alone.

I am married to THERESA BOAKYE-DANKWA with four children."

Our CORCOM leadership will like to recognized the pioneering efforts of Pastor and Mrs Stephen Antwi whose pioneering work gave birth to the Atlanta Ghana SDA Church. We pray for God's traveling mercies for all the delegates who will be in Atlanta this sabbath to support our brothers and sister as they welcome their new church pastor.
