The President of Ghana Rugby Association (GRA) on Wednesday 10th July 2012 departed the country for Tunisia on a quest to alter the fortunes of women’s rugby in Africa and the world over, as she prepares to make a presentation at the Confederation of African Rugby (CAR) Executive Committee meeting as the representative of Women’s Rugby in Africa.
The five-day meeting will center on her Strategic Development Plan to improve the lot of women’s rugby on the continent among other issues. The draft document will be tabled and discussed to champion its possible presentation to Congress in December, where when accepted will be adopted as a working tool for all stakeholders.
The presentation comes at a very strategic time as the Ghana Rugby Association prepares to host its Women’s Rugby Tournament, which will feature teams from Accra and Cape Coast in September.
It is our sincere hope that the document will help make Women’s rugby more prominent and raise it up to the level we all desire to see.
