Africa Leasing Association Relocates to Accra

African Leasing Association (AFPOLEASE), the continental body of leasing practitioners in Africa has temporarily relocated its secretariat from Abuja, Nigeria to Accra, Ghana for a period of one year.

Afrolease secretariat is expected to reside in Ghana for this period of time, pending the outcome of decision by Afrolease members on the permanent country of residence for the Association, scheduled to be held later this year at the 8' African Leasing Convention in Zambia.

One of the Association's major objectives is to create awareness on the benefits of leasing as an alternative equipment financing option, and a veritable tool for economic growth and the development of African economies.

Afrolease also coordinates leasing activities in all the five regions of the continent of Africa through workshops, seminars and highly subsidized training programs. The President of the Association, Mr. Seth K Dei, Managing Director/CEO, Leasafric Ghana Limited, said he is delighted to have Afrolease secretariat located at the premises of Leasafric Ghana Limited, at No. 7 Main Street, Tesano, Accra, Ghana. He has put all measures to ensure the comfort of its staff and the effective take off of the secretariat activities.

Whilst in Ghana, Afrolease will amongst other things-liaise with Ghana Association of Leasing Companies (GALCO), and other relevant institutions including key players in the industry namely, Leasafric Ghana Limited, General Leasing & Finance Company Limited and Ghana Leasing Company Limited for a mutually beneficial business r relationship.

The Executive Secretary of Afrolease, Gigin, Jonathan Danjuma, said he is pleased to be associated with the entire leasing community in Ghana, and is thankful for the support of all its members in Ghana, particularly Leasafric Ghana Limited, a leading player in Ghana leasing industry with a track record of outstanding achievements in the field of leasing.

The patron of the Association, Mr. Sudhir Amembal USA, the foremost lease educator in the world and the entire members of the Governing Council has also commended the Board, Management and staff of Leasafric Ghana Limited for accepting the challenge to host Afrolease secretariat and for being consistent in their commitment to support the upliftment of leasing in Africa.
