Question: Shell to miss PCCA nominations over license threat?

Per the criteria in public knowledge that only active OMCs with service stations operating under valid licenses by the NPA, EPA and have met GSA requirements will make the nomination list of the 2015 Ghana Petroleum Consumer Choice Awards (PCCA Ghana), it looks like Vivo Energy and its branded Shell Service Stations could miss out even before the prestigious nationwide annual event kicks off.

Currently, Vivo Energy is reported to be facing a license withdrawal threat over what the regulator (NPA) claims to be the company operating illegally (under prolong license expiration). A section of Ghanaians have consequently called for the closure of Shell-branded stations but Vivo Energy also had explained positions.

If a truce is not reached soon, we may see Vivo Energy and its branded Shell Stations missing out on the biggest opportunity available in the downstream sector at the moment for its customers nationwide to appreciate and celebrate its brand, products and services among its peers in the country. Only time however will tell if Shell will really loose out of the 2015 PCCA Ghana.

The Ghana Petroleum Consumer Choice Awards aka the Filling Station Awards (FiSA) is a prime celebration, inspiring excellence in quality service delivery at OMC Service Stations in the petroleum downstream sector of Ghana.

The Ghana Petroleum Consumer Choice Awards is purely a customer service awards that recognizes OMC Service Stations and stakeholder participants of OMC Service Stations, for exhibiting unusual and lasting commitment in giving the customer the best oil product and/or service, with the best processes, in the best environment.
