Venture Fund holds roundtable for SMEs in Northern Region

Management of Venture Capital Trust Fund (VCTF) on Monday held a roundtable for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and potential SMEs in the Northern Region to educate them on the operations of the fund.

The forum, which took place in Tamale, also afforded management of VCTF to listen to the concerns of entrepreneurs and their business plans and projects to advise them on what to do to secure funding from the fund.

The forum formed part of the regional tour by the VCTF to reach out to SMEs and potential SMEs, as well as introduce them to its operations and how to access funding from it (VCTF).

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency on the sidelines of the forum, Mr. Emmanuel Osei Akuamoah, Head of Corporate Communications and Facility Management at VCTF, said the fund was committed to funding viable business plans and projects that could deliver profitable results.

Mr. Akuamoah therefore called on SMEs to come out with good and original projects to receive funding from the VCTF, adding that, under a special purpose project, VCTF was engaging in agro-financing to help farmers to increase their acreage.

He said VCTF was also funding the production of soya, sorghum, and yellow corn in the northern regions, adding, facilities existed to ensure value-addition to the produce and prevent post-harvest losses. **
