As part of the launching management organised Youth Financial Education Programme to help the youth understand basics of money management and develop the saving culture to expand their opportunities for the future.

Mr Raymond Bismarck, Deputy General Manager launching the initiative said it was evidence of management’s commitment to inculcate the culture of financial literacy among the community within where they operate.

He said the facility would be extended to all branches to create access for more kids. Mr Bismarck said over the years, the bank had shown good leadership in financial literacy by providing regular financial education to diverse business groups under its neighbourhood banking project.

“These financial education programmes have dealt with topics such as book keeping, business planning, cost of borrowing, risk management and importance of savings,” he said.

Mr Bismarck said the youth had always been part of the exercise adding that some youth groups had benefited from the exercise focusing on explaining in totality the concept of banking using varied educational tools.
