Jay Q To Introduce Hiplife Jazz

We need a lot of thinkers to bring out a new genre or style of Ghanaian music to heighten the Ghanaian music industry. Jay Q has always been a saviour to the industry and will be doing it again.

Jay Q who has been a mainstay in the hiplife music industry for some years now after introducing 'jama' music onto the hiplife music scene is about to bring to light another style of hiplife music. He calls this - ?Hiplife Jazz?.

On April 18, Jay Q said, "Hiplife jazz is music mainly for the high people in the society like ambassadors, diplomatic peoples, ministers and people of high positions. This album suits occasions like dinner parties, balls and the likes?.

?When I attend parties and it gets to dancing time, local songs are being played and that is very good but when it gets to socialization or dinner time, then you hear the DJs playing the Celine Dions, Westlifes, Backstreet boys and more. That is a pity?.

?Why can?t we have our own music in jazz form. My hiplife jazz has been wrapped in a way that fits all occasions?.

Jay Q thinks we still don?t have good singers who can attain the kind of level of international artistes but knows some day we will get there.

Injecting songs like ?Otoolege?, ?Ahomka Womu?, ?Na Who Cause Am?, and more song into his jazz-made instrumentations, Jay Q dubs this album, ?Memories with Jay Q?.

A few people like me and his tutor in music who have heard the hiplife jazz have responded to it in a good way and know it will go places. There are various songs of VIP, Dr. Poh, and Ofori Amponsah again in a jazzy all instrumental version on this album.

Since Jay Q introduced jama instrumentation into the Ghanaian music industry, it seems everyone is tagging along that lane. Recently, new albums of Oheneba Kissi and Daasebre Dwamena have their hit songs as jama songs.
