Wutah Nabs Eleven Nominations, Whiles Castro & Ofori Amponsah Grab Eight Nominations Each At GMA 200

This year?s Ghana Music Awards will be honouring artistes, producers, record labels, video directors and sound engineers in 29 categories. Charter House, event organisers of Ghana Music Awards has released this year?s nominees which looks very keen.

Three newcomers, Praye, Wutah and Kwabena Kwabena, join Ofori Amponsah, Castro, Noble Nketsia and Kofi Nti as the artistes with the greatest chance of leaving Accra International Conference Centre with the awards in their hands.

Surprisingly Wutah, scored a whopping eleven nominations categories like ?The Most Popular Song of the Year?, ?Album Of the Year?, ?Artiste of the Year?, ?Best Male Vocal Performance?, ?Hiplife Song of the Year, ?Hiplife Album of the Year? and ?New Hiplife Artiste of the Year?, ?Hiplife Artiste of the Year?, ?New Artiste of the Year?, ?Song writer of the Year? and ?Reggae song of the Year?.

All eyes will definitely be on Ofori Amponsah, who sticks his head out tall with eight nominations in ?The Most Popular Song of the Year?, ?Album Of the Year?, ?Artiste of the Year?, ?Contemporary Highlife Song of the Year?, ?Contemporary Highlife Album of the Year?, ?Highlife / Contemporary Highlife Artiste of the Year?, ?Best Collaboration of the Year? and ?Songwriter of The Year?.

Castro, Ghana?s 50 cent look-alike and his second album, titled ?Toffee? also received eight nods in the categories for ?The Most Popular Song of the Year?, ?Album Of the Year?, ?Artiste of the Year?, ?Best Male Vocal Performance?, ?Hiplife Song of the Year, ?Hiplife Album of the Year? and ?Hiplife Artiste of the Year?,.

Kwabena Kwabena will be in categories like ?The Most Popular Song of the Year?, ?Best Male Vocal Performance?, ?Contemporary Highlife Song of the Year?, ?Highlife / Contemporary Highlife Artiste of the Year?, ?New Artiste of the Year?, ?Song writer of the Year? and ?Best collaboration of the Year? with seven nominations.

Praye and Kofi Nti received six nods apiece for the seventh Ghana Music Awards Festival. Praye will be vying for ?New Artiste of the Year?, ?New Hiplife Artiste of the Year?, ?Hiplife Artiste of the Year?, ?Hiplife Song of the Year?, ?The Most Popular Song of the Year? and ?Artiste of the Year?.

Kofi Nti of Rakia fame was also nominated in the ?Highlife / Contemporary Highlife Artiste of the Year?, ?Contemporary Highlife Album of the Year?, ?Contemporary Highlife Song of the Year?, ?Album of the Year? and ?The Most Popular Song of the Year?.

Noble Nketsia, the only gospel artiste with the highest (7) nominations is likely to have his fingers crossed for big wins, he'll be doubly excited when he wins ??Album of the Year? and ?The Most Popular Song of the Year?, ?Best Male Vocal Performance?, ?Gospel Song of the Year?, ?Gospel Album of he Year?, Gospel Artiste of the Year and ?Song writer of the Year? categories.

Three nominations fell on Nana Quame, Jane & Bernice, Prophet Seth Frimpong, Esther Amoako and Nana Fynn.

With nine (Amakye Dede, Sidney, Akatakyie, Prophet Seth Frimpong, Rev. Mensah Bonsu, Georgia Adjei, Lucky Mensah, Atongo, Fred Oware Jnr.) artistes grabbing two nominations each. As you can see this year's award ceremony is going to be a very or should I say the most keenly competitive one that in the awards seven year history.

Artistes like Kaakyire Kwame Appiah, King David, Oheneba Kissi, Baako Teeta, Say, Abada, Yeda, Zacuss, Nana Ayisha, Mc Rauf , Abu Sadiq, Sheriff Ghale, 4x4, Josh Laryea, Monica Konadu, Wille & Mike, Francis Asumadu, Kweku Gyasi, Esther Smith, 2 Toff, Shilo, Tatale, Kwaw Kese, have only one nomination each.

The Ghana Music Awards Festival which will be starting from March 1st ? March 6th this year?s will be sparking off with a media launch at Alisa Hotel.
