Dompe, A Rising Star In The Hiplife Scene

Dompe To every one in the Ghanaian music scene he is known as the lyrical mass destructor who dishes out heavy lyrics to hiplife fans, but in real life, he is known as the humble and quite Kwabena Asare Badu Baffour.

Dompe is coming out with debut album titled ?Pressure? featuring Castro, and the reason for the title pressure he explained. ?Since 2002 people have been asking when the album will be coming out, my own parents thought i was joking; the pressure was coming from all angles thus the album title ?Pressure?.

So the same year he started the journey to record some songs with Morris in Kumasi, Ubert, Appietus and Roland.

some hiplife artistes like Tic Tac, the most wanted (?Baby Girl?, ?Boom Shaka?), Castro, K. K. Fosu (?Daben?), Jeho (?Obidoba?) and K. Kumi (?Boom Shaka?) helped beef up some of the tracks on the album, it has a balance of hiplife and highlife songs.

Lyrics on the ?Pressure? album are clever jokes but if you listen to him carefully, he has serious messages for the entire public.

The album is on the TN Record label, and will be issued hopefully sometime in March.

He hopes the album becomes a breakthrough for him both on the local and international music market.

Born in Kumasi on 23rd December 1981, Dompe picked up gospel music at an early age and likes watching movies and listening to hip-hop music.

Send him a mail at domplate@yahoo.com or call him on 233 24 4037 856 if you are interested in producing or managing him.

Dompe wants to tell hiplife lovers that hiplife has a future in Ghana. He also thinks our video directors should change their style because most of our videos are not good for the international music market.

Dompe wants to use Ghana Music.com?s media and other media houses to tell DJs to help in pushing the album when it comes out.

To every one who has been helpful to Dompe in one way or the other he says thanks especially his grandpa and grandma, Tic Tac, Mr. Aboagye Kwarteng, Ubert, Appietus, George and everyone.
