Nat And Akosua Falling Apart

Have you heard that Nat Brew and Akosua Adjepong are divorced? Yeah, typical Ghanaian way of starting gossip and possibly what might be going on.

The rumour mill has had it for sometime that musicians Amanzeba Nat Brew and Akosua Adjepong have it quits. Showbiz caught up with the beautiful songstress who denied the rumours but admitted that ?there?s a little problem that needs to be worked out, so we?re trying to sort it out.?

Akosua says she is still in touch with Nat who visits his children regularly and they talk often.

Is Akosua worried about what?s going on between her husband and herself? ?No, I believe that life is like a book and whatever happens to one at any point in time is a page, she says, marriage is a long journey, it?s not always smooth so I believe this is the time I am meeting the bumps on the road.?

The couple met in 1992 and got married in 1994 have five children, one from Nat?s earlier relationship and four between them.

Understandably, Akosua would not go into details of whatever it is that might be tearing the couple apart, ?I can?t spill it out you know, remember there are the children to protect, and it might not be the best thing to do as things are now.?

All efforts to reach Amanzeba proved futile, Showbiz later learnt that he is currently out the country.

Meantime Akosua Adjepong is busy taking care of the children, running her popular ?Ye Kum Kom? Spot in Accra and putting things together to give her current album I belong To You, the maximum promotion it deserves.

Akosua who is now going strictly gospel says she hopes to come out with an album getting to the latter part of the year. She has three albums to her credit, the first two being Frema and Asiwa and five with NAKOREX, which comprised of herself, Nat Brew and Rex Omar.

Quite unlike the average woman whose marital problems would have been telling so much on her, Akosua still looks extremely good and is bubbling with enthusiasm and optimism.

Could it be because she is very religious? ?My late mother always advised us not to rely on human beings else we will always be disappointed, there is only one man who will never disappoint you and that is God,? with this piece of advice, Akosua has always relied on her maker knowing that people are getting mad, disappointed, broken hearts, etc. because they put their hopes in man.

Lately, a number of people have nicknamed her Mmaa Nkomo Sofo because of her immense contribution to the popular programme on GTV, where she counsels. She attributes her ability to deliver on the programme to God.

Instead of telling others one?s problems, Akosua believes that it is always best to talk to God through prayer all the time because whoever you confide in may go ahead and trade whatever you tell them in gossip.

Akosua says she loves kids, ?Anytime I see kids I like to pick them and play with them,? Akosua has a number of kids around her restaurant she refers to as ?Ye Kum Kom Babies? and she always makes time to spend with them.

?My dream is to have a large acre of land, build a school for the homeless, have a nursery, a playing ground, library, a hospital and all the things that will make them very comfortable and I see it happening?. She could not have been more optimistic.

Akosua said that it always touches her heart to see mothers struggling to take care of their children, especially when they have been abandoned by their husbands.

?I want everyone out there to know that we serve a living God, not a dead and one you have to believe in whatever you are doing especially when you are convinced  that it is God?s will, if it is not, things will naturally stop halfway.?

It pays to be nice to everybody that you come across because it is a small world. Imagine this; you insult an elderly woman and go home with the guy you want to marry only to realise that it was your prospective mother-in-law that you have insulted. Here?s one from Akosua.

Ever trim and pretty, Akosua who says she is over 30 years, does not go to the gym and is not really a food person. Apem and thick palm-nut soup is something she cannot resist.

The third of five girls, (her mum had 5 girls and her dad?s children are sixteen) Akosua also loves cooking, writing and dancing. Little wonder she still boogies so well to her gospel songs, ?instead of going to the discos to dance, you can modify it a bit and do it for God,? she says.

Akosua almost always wears braids, keeps a great collection of beads and her room choking with native sandals.
