Appietus: The Magic Behind Hit Tracks

The Ghanaian Music industry has no doubt developed and metamorphosed in recent years with big names making the headlines while very little or no recognition is given to the men who make it all happen in the studios, the technical team.

One such technical person is sound engineer Appiah Dankwa popularly known as Appietus of Creative Studios in Dansoman. Having worked on quite a large percentage of the hit tracks on our airwaves today and having gained years of experience in prominent studios like Kays Frequency and Kampsite Studios, Appiah has carved a niche for himself.

His hard work in the industry has culminated in a major breakthrough, an invitation to the United Kingdom, by a top British producer Mr. Armstrong, to tour big studios in the UK and gather ideas to expand Creative Studios to become one of the most efficient and equipped studios in Ghana.

Mr. Armstrong, who visited the country three months ago, believes Appiah is among the very few potentials that can help the new trend of Ghanaian music to break through the international market.

Not only has Appietus as he is popularly called become a household name among the musicians for his very creative beats, but the father of two who is happily married, has also been known for his exclusive live performances on the keyboard and piano. He has been described as the man who can produce a beat from a cough by a singer.

In a short interview, Appiah who is very religious spoke about his love for his family and plans for the future which indicate that not only is he set to take the Ghanaian music scene by storm, but promises to stay in the business for a long time.

Some of the musicians he has worked with include Adani Best on Maafio, Nana Sidney on Abuskeleke, Omanhene Pozo on Kynenkyen Bi Adi Me Awu featuring Alhaji .K. Frimpong, Akosua Agyepong on her new gospel album. Appiah who is currently producing two new artistes on his young label is set to explode this Christmas.

He is also currently in the studio with Nat Brew, Rex Omar, Sidney and Omanhene Pozo who are all recording their new albums.
