How can things be easy for government if we want children to go to school for free? - Kate Gyamfua

The National Women's Organizer of the New Patriotic Party, Kate Gyamfua, has acknowledged the economic challenges Ghanaians are facing.

"Things are very hard, even though the government has done well in most aspects; but things are very hard. If we come and sit here and tell you that things aren't hard, then that means we don't love the country," she said.

Speaking in an interview on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo Show' on May 3, 2024, she highlighted issues plaguing the country, including poor infrastructure such as roads, inadequate school facilities and healthcare services.

"But what I am saying is that for everyone who is in this world and wants change, things aren't that easy because our roads are bad, our school facilities are inadequate, and our hospitals are not up to standard.

"And we want our children to go to school for free; how can things be easy for the government in times of economic difficulty?" she questioned.

She asserted that even President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo would acknowledge the hardships faced by Ghanaians.

"If I sit here and tell you that things are good, even President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo if he comes here and you ask him how things are going, he will tell you work is ongoing, but things are hard," she added.
