Nikki Samonas reflects on her father's death at age 10, unexpected fame

Ghanaian actress, Nikki Samonas, has opened up about her difficult childhood and subsequent rise to stardom.

During an appearance on 'The Ladies Circle', Nikki recounted the difficulties she faced following her father's death when she was just ten years old.

Nikki Samonas dispelled the misconception of a privileged upbringing, revealing that her life was marked by adversity.

According to her, she faced numerous challenges and was frequently compelled to relocate to survive.

Nikki admitted that her early life struggles made the idea of fame and success seem unattainable.

Yet, these experiences have been invaluable, inspiring her to consider writing a memoir.

“Fortunately for me, I did have a very rich father, he died when I was ten so life took a turn. When he died, it was rough. I was hoping from home to home and most people don’t know that. Very soon I will write a book.

“I never ever thought, felt, fathomed, dreamed that I would end up in the limelight,” she stated.

As a child, Nikki aspired to be a UN Ambassador for refugees, a dream that came true when she was appointed National Goodwill Ambassador for the UNHCR in 2020.

“For me, I wanted to work with the UN. That’s the one thing I wanted to do that I have actually seen come to life as the Global UN Ambassador for Refugees. I felt that I am half-caste, I wanted to learn languages and work with the United Nations and eventually, it has happened,” she added.
