A hilarious but touching moment occurred when Ghanaian rapper Amerado received a call from his mother, Maame Gyamfua, while promoting his new song 'Broken Heart' (TinTonTan) live on radio.

Amerado, whose real name is Derrick Sarfo Kantanka, had come on the Daybreak Hitz show when his mother called to check up on him, a 'ritual' she does every morning. She was quickly engaged by the show host, Andy Dosty, who inquired about her son.

Expressing her desires for Amerado's future, Maame Gyamfua shared her hopes for him to follow God's plan, which includes completing his education, building a family, and achieving career success.

"He will marry soon; immediately he's done with school, he will marry. I have already told him I want two kids," she said.

When asked which of her son's songs she preferred, she cited his latest song, which was about heartbreak, something she relates to.

"I love all his songs, especially the latest song about heartbreak. It reminds me of my own experience," she disclosed.

She revealed that she hopes to find new love, even having a suitor in mind, despite the concerns of her children.

"I even have a suitor, but my children don't want it; they are afraid I will get another broken heart," she said.

The interview was cut short when she discovered she was live on the radio, leading to her cutting the call in shock.

Currently, Amerado is hoping to bag a Telecel Ghana Music Award, as his hit song 'Kweku Ananse' has been nominated for both Highlife Song of the Year and Popular Song of the Year at the 2024 TGMAs.
