Richmond Lamptey, the vice-captain of Asante Kotoko, has provided insights into the team's recent form in the Ghana Premier League, linking their seven-game winless run to a prevailing sense of unease among the players.

This difficult phase prompted the squad to turn to Otumfuo, their life patron, resulting in a palace visit in early April.

Before this pivotal meeting, Kotoko had suffered six defeats and one draw over seven matches.

The session with the Asantehene marked a turning point, heralding a favorable change in the team's performance.

Post-visit, Kotoko displayed a marked improvement, notching wins against Samartex, a draw with Medeama SC, and a decisive 2-0 victory against Legon Cities in successive games.

Speaking on Asempa FM, Lamptey remarked, "Following our visit to Opemsuo, by God's grace, our circumstances have transformed."

He stressed the significance of respecting Kotoko's legacy, recognizing the club's prominence and the high expectations for its players.

He observed, "I've noticed a certain apprehension had gripped the lads... But now, they've managed to conquer that fear."
