EOCO boss begged A Plus to drop charges against Asenso-Boakye, Abu Jinapor - Martin Kpebu claims

Private legal practitioner, Martin Kpebu, has criticised the Executive Director of the Economic Organisation and Crime Office (EOCO), COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, for her actions in office.

He alleged that when Kwame Obeng Asare, also known as A Plus, brought corruption allegations against the current Minister of Roads and Highways, Francis Asenso-Boakye, and Samuel Abu Jinapor, Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, to her office, she failed to properly pursue the case.

Kpebu disclosed that the EOCO boss implored A Plus to retract the case from her jurisdiction, fearing that further pursuit could damage President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's reputation due to the implicated corruption.

Kpebu rebuked Tiwaa for shielding President Akufo-Addo and his appointees, rather than combating corruption to protect the nation's wealth.

“We will never forget that Madame Tiwaa has such a bad profile of protecting President Akufo-Addo and his appointees. That's how come there's only one conclusion. She tossed the case just to protect the president. What's the profile?

"Number one, Asenso-Boakye and Abu Jinapor were reported to her by Kwame A Plus. She took a phone and begged A Plus to drop the charges. Because that corruption case will embarrass Akufo-Addo,” he said while speaking in an interview with TV3 on The Key Points programme.

It is worth noting that A Plus previously made corruption accusations against Asenso-Boakye, Abu Jinapor and reported them to various anti-corruption bodies for investigation.
