DOES TWENE JONAS HAVE RESIDENCY IN U.S.?

The elders say that:

"IT IS UNWISE TO JUMP OVER A BLAZING FLAME, IF YOU HAVE COTTON WOOL FOR UNDERWEAR".

For coming out so strongly and one might say, so disrespectfully, against traditional authority about something he could have said differently and received applause and encouragement from even the same old and wise elders he attacked, Twene Jonas .... not sure which is first and last name ..... could have averted the trouble he has created for himself and especially, extended family still living in Ghana.

The US-based young man of Ghanaian origin may not know this, but it is true that in the traditional system he comes from, "mrante3", or young men, decide much of the direction traditional authority, led by chiefs or kings, conduct state affairs.

So, Twene Jonas would not have raised the ire of just about everybody in the ethnic community he left behind in Ghana, had he "spoken well and wisely".

It is Twene Jonas' extended family that seems to be bearing the brunt of his foolish talk borne out of youthful enthusiasm. In the "News" section of Ghanaweb today, a sister to Mr. Jonas spoke in defence of his brother, for something maverick MP Kennedy Agyapong had said about him. Would all this have been necessary, had Twene Jonas measured his words?

The Akan proverb that:

"Opanin na obi ny33 bi da, na 3ny3 mmofra-ase" (lit., "Not all have experienced old age, but all have experienced childhood") aptly applies to Twene Jonas' know-it-all youthful enthusiasm of a perfect world.

But is Twene Jonas one of 2 million Ghanaians out of a total population of 30 million who pay taxes? If he is not yet a tax payer, the young man from Bechem might as well help improve things in Ghana by chipping in, as they say?

For now, it is all "Glass Nkoaa" for Twene Jonas in "heavenly" US of A. But sooner or later the chips will come down, compelling the ardent supporter of Bechem United soccer club to voluntarily come to Ghana for a visit or for an "ayie" funeral.

Could there also be the eerily probability that Mr. Twene Jonas, the hillbilly godfather of Los Estas Unidos dos Americanos, is a registered member of the "Paperless Americans", and in good standing?

Concerning Twene Jonas' next trip home to Ghana, and matters arising, Mallam is innocent.
