TWO men implicated in the death of Ya-Na Yakubu Andani in March, last year, have been indicted to face trial at a high court on April 9, this year. This followed the completion of an indictment procedure at an Accra district magistrate court yesterday. Yidana Sugri and Iddrisu Gyamfo were arrested after being implicated in a government White Paper on the Wuaku Commission Report. The two, who have been on remand at the James Fort Prisons since November 11, last year, have been charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder. There was a near confusion at the court when six people who were invited by the Police from Yendi as witnesses were prevented from entering the court. It however, took the security personnel sometime to bring the situation to order and allowed for a smooth proceeding. Sugri and Gyamfo were among 30 people implicated by the government White Paper in December last year. The White Paper ordered their arrest and prosecution for various offences, including murder, attempted murder and arson. Among those implicated are Iddrisu Iddi, also known as Mbadugu, an ex-Zalaukola Na, Mohamadu Abdulai Karim, also known as Mohamadu Abdulai Karim, also known as Samansaman, and Shaui Moro, who are to be prosecuted for conspiracy to murder. Sulemana Baba, otherwise known as Baba Kroga, Abdulai Karim, also known as Cheke, Alhassan Alhassan, also known as Baku, and Kwame Alhassan, alias Achiri, have been mentioned and billed for prosecution for attempted murder. The Wuaku Commission, at its sitting in Sunyani on August 8, 2002, ordered the arrest of Gyanfo, who allegedly displayed the mutilated head of the late Ya-Na. However, at its sitting on August 13, the commission vacated the order, saying the earlier action "was in excess of its jurisdiction.
