Desmond Ofei defends Black Meteors' player scouting methods

Black Meteors coach Desmond Ofei has dismissed claims that he rarely attends domestic league matches to scout players, insisting that his technical team uses multiple methods to identify talent.

Ofei explained that scouting is a collective responsibility, with his technical team, including Iapreco and Mahalam Nuhu, contributing to player selection.

“I’m not the only technical team, or I’m not the only person in the technical team,” he said.

He added that the team also relies on scouts already working with the Football Association, as well as video analysis, to assess players without necessarily being physically present at match venues.

“We have scouts already in the FA, they are scouts for us. So, we do a lot of video scouting as well,” Ofei stated.

The coach maintained that his team has conducted enough scouting and preparation to identify players who can strengthen the Black Meteors.

“We’ve done enough homework to pick the best players that can help us. And we believe that we have the best players that can help us at the moment,” he added.
