'I won't expose NPP strategies to NDC' - NPP’s Abanga

Newly elected National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Abanga Fuseini Yakubu, has dismissed suggestions that his close relationship with his twin brother, an NDC Vice Chairman, could influence him to share the NPP’s strategies with the opposition party.

Abanga said his loyalty to the NPP remained firm despite the political differences within his family, stressing that he had no intention of defecting to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

“This is not possible. If somebody should come and tell you I will expose my political strategies and ideas to the NDC, it doesn’t make sense. I love the NPP, so whoever knows me can testify to my loyalty to the New Patriotic Party,” he said.

Speaking on Channel One TV’s Face to Face on October 6, 2026, he said he had served the NPP wholeheartedly since 2014 and remained committed to the party.

“I’ve spent the whole of 2014 to date serving the New Patriotic Party, wholeheartedly,” he stated.

Abanga explained that his mother supports the NPP, while his father and twin brother, Hassan Abanga, are affiliated with the NDC.

He said the family had agreed to respect each other’s political choices and avoid political discussions during gatherings to prevent unnecessary tension.

He further ruled out the possibility that his relationship with his twin brother could persuade him to join the NDC, insisting that his political allegiance remained with the NPP.

“Nobody. It’s NPP and NPP. And that is the NPP that I believe in,” he indicated.

Abanga also expressed confidence in the NPP and pledged to contribute to strengthening the party in his new role, describing it as a strong political brand with the potential to reward committed members.

“Obia b3didi’ brand is not a small brand. It’s a very big brand; if I’m able to manage it well, one day the party people will lift me,” he said.

Abanga Fuseini was elected National Youth Organiser at the NPP’s national executive elections held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on October 3, 2026.
