Regent of the Nandom Traditional Council David Chemogoh Aasonaa Delle is dead

The Palace of Nandom Naa has announced the death of the Regent of the Nandom Traditional Council, David Chemogoh Aasonaa Delle, at the age of 81.
Aasonaa Delle passed away at the Tamale Teaching Hospital on Thursday, September 24, 2026, following a short illness.
In a statement issued by the Office of the Nandom Naa, the Palace described the late Regent as a distinguished custodian of tradition and a pillar of the Nandom Stool who served the traditional area with dedication, wisdom and humility.
His death has been described as a major loss to the Royal Family, the Nandom Traditional Council and the people of the Nandom Traditional Area.
His Royal Majesty, Naa Professor Edmund Nminyem Delle Chiir VIII, Nandom Naa and President of the Nandom Traditional Council, together with the Royal Family and members of the Traditional Council, expressed condolences to the bereaved family and all those mourning the late Regent.
The Palace said further announcements concerning the customary rites and funeral arrangements would be communicated in due course.
It has also appealed to the public to respect the mourning period and remember the bereaved family and the people of Nandom in their prayers.
The statement was issued by Okyeame Frempa Taatuo, Relations Officer at the Office of the Nandom Naa, on behalf of His Royal Majesty, Naa Professor Edmund Nminyem Delle Chiir VIII.
