The Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) has suspended the pre-shipment inspection of imported used vehicles until further notice. The Authority said the suspension affects vehicle importers and other stakeholders involved in the importation of used vehicles into Ghana. Cedi records mixed performance against dollar, pound and euro In a public notice signed by the Director-General of the GSA, Professor George Agyemang, on Monday, October 5, 2026, the GSA said the effective date for the inspection exercise had been put on hold. “The pre-shipment inspection exercise for imported used vehicles has been suspended,” the Authority stated. The GSA said it would announce a new date for the start of the inspection exercise when the necessary arrangements had been completed. “A new date for its implementation will be communicated in due course,” the Authority said. The Authority, however, thanked vehicle importers and other stakeholders for their cooperation as it works on the next steps for the exercise. The notice forms part of the GSA’s communication to stakeholders on the implementation of the pre-shipment inspection requirement for imported used vehicles.
