How former Black Stars reacted to Prince Tagoe new deal

Former Black Stars captains Asamoah Gyan and Stephen Appiah, football legends Laryea Kingston and Fatawu Dauda, as well as several Ghanaian music stars and media personalities, have congratulated former Black Stars striker Prince Tagoe on his latest career move as brand ambassador for a betting company.
The messages of support followed the official announcement of the one-year partnership, which sees the former Ghana international become the face of Betbooker, with the deal open to renewal upon expiration.
Prince Tagoe, popularly known as the Prince of Goals, announced the partnership on his official Instagram page, expressing his excitement about joining the company.
“A new chapter begins. I’m proud to officially join the betting company as Brand Ambassador. Football has taken me to incredible places, and I’m excited to bring my experience, passion, and love for the game into this new journey,” he wrote.
Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan was among the first to celebrate the move, commenting, “Prince of goals” on Tagoe’s post.
Another former Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah, also congratulated his former teammate with the message, “Congrats Prince”, while former Black Stars midfielder and Tagoe’s former playing mate, Laryea Kingston, wrote, “Congratulations bro.”
Former Black Stars goalkeeper Fatawu Dauda also joined the chorus of congratulatory messages, writing, “Congratulations goals.”
The support has extended beyond the football fraternity, with Ghanaian music personalities, including rapper and Asakaa artiste Jay Bahd, music duo Keche and J.Derobie, also celebrating Tagoe’s new role.
Seasoned journalist and media personality Arnold Asamoah Baidoo, artiste manager BullGod and media personality Nana Romeo are also among those who have applauded the former striker and wished him well in his new role.
The partnership brings together one of Ghana’s recognised football personalities and a betting company seeking to strengthen its connection with the country’s football community.
Explaining the decision to sign Prince Tagoe, the Country Manager, Edith Amoah said the partnership was influenced by a shared vision between the company and the former Black Stars striker.
She said the betting company is also interested in contributing to football development at the grassroots and colts levels by helping to identify and support young players with the potential to represent Ghana and compete at the highest level.
“Aside from the fact that we are a gambling company, we are also a company that is willing to help with talent development at the grassroots or colts level to discover the next generation of young football stars, scout them and give them the support they need to represent Ghana, play for top clubs and put the flag of Ghana on the global map,” Edith Amoah said.
The partnership will see the company and Prince Tagoe explore football-focused initiatives that leverage his experience, reputation and connection with Ghanaian football fans to strengthen the company’s visibility and engagement within the football community.
Beyond brand visibility, the collaboration is expected to create opportunities for football-focused projects that connect Betbooker with fans while contributing to conversations around talent discovery and development.
For Prince Tagoe, the new role marks another chapter in a football journey that saw him represent Ghana at the highest level and earn recognition as one of the country’s notable strikers.
