Suspected police officer allegedly flees with pragya, GH¢8,000 at Mankranso

A man believed to be a police officer is wanted after allegedly fleeing with a Pragya and GH¢8,000 belonging to its owner at Mankranso in the Ahafo Ano South West District of the Ashanti Region.
According to reports circulating on social media, the suspect posed as a potential buyer and expressed interest in purchasing the Pragya from its owner.
The suspect reportedly took the owner to a Mobile Money (MoMo) vendor, where he collected GH¢8,000 after claiming that network problems were preventing him from making a withdrawal.
He allegedly assured the owner that he would repay the money shortly, explaining that he was heading to Mankranso Zongo Junction to meet some fellow police officers who were expected to give him money.
The suspect later reportedly asked the owner to drive him to Tepa to purchase a top cover for the Pragya.
Upon arrival at Tepa, the suspect allegedly handed the owner GH¢200 and asked him to purchase an item on his behalf.
The suspect is said to have used the opportunity to abscond with the Pragya and the GH¢8,000 he had earlier collected from the MoMo vendor.
A video circulating on social media purportedly shows the suspect, believed to be a police officer, getting out of the Pragya together with its owner during the earlier stages of the transaction.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, and it is not yet known whether the suspect is an actual serving police officer.
