Nana Akomea denies negotiating with Kojo Bamba over NPP conference

NPP’s Third Vice Chairman Nana Akomea has denied claims that he was involved in a failed arrangement with Kojo Bamba, saying he was not even at the NPP conference grounds when the alleged negotiation could have taken place.
Akomea clarified that he had left the conference grounds at about 11:30 p.m. and was caught in traffic while returning to the stadium.
He explained that he only arrived a few minutes after the newly elected national executives had been introduced.
“Yes, I was not present for the introductions. I had left the conference grounds around 11.30pm. I got caught up in traffic on my way back to the stadium, and only reached the conference grounds a few minutes after the introductions had been done,” he said.
Akomea was responding to a story that he and Nana Bee had refused to be introduced because they were upset over a failed arrangement involving Kojo Bamba.
He dismissed that account, pointing out that he was also absent when the votes were counted and tabulated.
“So I was not present during the vote counting and tabulation, and so could not have engaged myself in any ‘negotiation’ with Kojo Bamba or anybody else,” he said in a post on social media.
Akomea’s explanation therefore directly challenges the suggestion that his absence from the introductions was connected to a disagreement with Bamba.
