Apostle Rita Korankye Ankrah, wife of Rev Sam Korankye Ankrah, sparked laughter during the couple’s vow renewal ceremony to mark 40 years of marriage.
Apostle Rita Korankye Ankrah delivered a humorous vow to her husband, using popular Ghanaian dishes as metaphors during the renewal ceremony on October 4, 2026.
In describing her husband, she affectionately referred to him as “My Dawadawa in my Tuo-Zaafi; My wele on my Waakye,” drawing laughter from the audience gathered at the auditorium.
After the humorous description of her husband, she proceeded with the vow renewal, reaffirming her love and commitment to him after four decades of marriage.
“I have, in these 40 years, loved you and submitted to you. Today, the 4th day of October 2026, in the presence of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, and all the witnesses gathered here, I reaffirm my commitment to you as I did 40 years before.

“And I declare this day that I will continue to honour you and submit to your leadership as my lawful wedded husband. I will also strengthen the bond of my marriage covenant with a stronger and deeper commitment to be one with you in spirit, soul, and body for the rest of our lives,” she said.
Rev Sam Korankye Ankrah is the founder and Apostle-General of Royal House Chapel International, while his wife serves as the church’s Premier Lady.
The couple met in 1982 and married in 1986, and they have four children.
Rev Sam Korankye Ankrah has previously recalled that he proposed to his wife while he was struggling financially and their living conditions were far from perfect.
