Why we are in love with Kurt Okraku – Aduana FC general manager details

The General Manager of Aduana FC, Takyi Arhin, has said that football clubs and administrators are so in love with the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, because of his good work. According to him, some of the financial packages the GFA President has provided to clubs to support their operations are impressive and have offered them immense support, unlike in the past. The Aduana FC general manager noted that the football boots, kits, and other equipment provided to some clubs are also appreciated and have helped elevate their standards, hence the need to commend him. MPs, fans mount pressure on President Mahama to dissolve Black Stars, GFA “Football clubs and football institutes. We are so much in love with Kurt Okraku. For the things that he's done for us. Who thought that just waking up one morning you'll be getting GH¢1 million to do your craft? "Who thought a first-division team would have GH¢120,000 to start with the league: football boots, footballs, jerseys, and whatever- make-on voucher, free fuel coupon? Who thought that? That's what happened. So if it comes to the normal GFA work, that is on top,” he told Sporty FM during an interview on October 5, 2026. Takyi Arhin went on to reject criticisms that attribute the poor performances of the Black Stars and other national teams to the GFA boss. He indicated that the national teams are also managed by the government, and therefore, there should be a commitment from the government to invest in developing more talents. He added that Kurt Okraku should not be blamed for that. “Kurt Okraku is the GFA president. So it's time we decouple the work of the GFA from that of the national team. Nobody can use national teams as a yardstick to measure Kurt Okraku. National things that belong to the state. So, the government should invest. I'm telling you something,” he added. This comes as pressure mounts on GFA officials to resign following the abysmal performances of the national teams and other sporting activities. Watch the video below:
