Mathias Alagbo Kabila enters race for NDC Deputy National Organizer

Staunch member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mathias Alagbo Kabila, has declared his intention to contest for the position of Deputy National Organizer of the party. In a declaration issued following what he described as months of reflection and consultations with party elders, national executives, regional and constituency leaders, organizers, branch executives, and grassroots members, Kabila said he had accepted the call to offer himself for the position. The current Volta Regional Youth Organizer said his decision was driven by his experience and conviction that the NDC’s organisational wing must evolve to meet the demands of a modern political party. “This decision is not born out of personal ambition. It is born out of conviction, experience, and an unwavering belief that our Organizational Wing must continue to evolve to meet the demands of a modern, dynamic, and election-winning political party,” he said. Kabila said he had served the NDC for more than two decades, beginning as a Branch Youth Organizer and later serving as Public Relations Officer of TEIN at the University of Ghana. He subsequently served as Deputy Volta Regional Youth Organizer and two terms as Volta Regional Youth Organizer, as well as a member of the Regional and National Executive Committees. He also highlighted his experience in the party’s communication wing, saying he had been involved in communicating the NDC’s positions and records on radio, television and social media since 2010. “These experiences have taught me one enduring lesson. Strong structures build strong victories,” he said. If elected, Kabila said his focus would include strengthening party structures across the branches, constituencies and regions, as well as improving the capacity of the party’s organisational wings through continuous training and leadership development. He also plans to establish a coordinated grassroots mobilisation network to improve communication, volunteer coordination and election preparedness ahead of the 2028 general elections. Another priority, he said, would be to promote a culture that recognises loyalty and rewards hard work within the party. “In a nutshell, I will lead a crusade to rebirth meritocracy and welfare for the grassroots, a catalyst to reinvigorate the base of the NDC,” he stated. Kabila further pledged to work towards greater unity, discipline and collaboration across the party’s organisational structures. He said the NDC’s objective should extend beyond winning elections to building a party organisation that remains active between elections and responsive to the needs of its members. “Our task is not simply to win elections. Our task is to build an organization that remains active beyond elections, responsive to the needs of our members, connected to our communities, and prepared for every political challenge,” he said. Kabila said he was not presenting himself as someone with all the answers but as a party member shaped by years of service and committed to the ideals of the NDC. “I do not present myself as one with all the answers. Rather, I present myself as a loyal servant of this great party, shaped by experience, strengthened through service, and prepared for greater responsibility through resolve, convictions and iron clad adherence to the ideals that gave birth to our being,” he said. He called for professionalism, innovation, discipline, inclusion and sustained grassroots engagement within the party’s organisational wing. Kabila concluded by asking party members for their support, prayers and partnership as he pursues the Deputy National Organizer position. “Together, let us organize with purpose, mobilize with discipline and win with confidence,” he said.Source: www.ghanaweb.com
