'I will sack every NDC member from my constituency if I am wrongly arrested' - Sticka warns

The Member of Parliament for the Nhyiaeso Constituency, Dr Stephen Amoah, popularly known as Sticka, has threatened to remove all members of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) from his constituency if he is wrongfully arrested. According to Sticka, he has no problem being arrested if he commits an offence. However, he warned that if he is arrested without committing any offence, there would be consequences following his release. Speaking during a panel discussion on OwiaTV on October 3, 2026, the former Deputy Finance Minister said he would not sit idly by and allow anyone to intimidate him. He argued that when authorities fail to uphold the rule of law, citizens may react in ways that could have broader consequences. “For me, sitting here, if the NDC wants, they should arrest me. If I am arrested after committing an offence, I am okay. But if I don’t commit any offence and I am arrested, after my release, Ghanaians will see what will happen. “In my constituency, every NDC member there will leave the place. I swear by the God I serve, if you arrest me for no offence,” he said. His comments come amid a number of arrests involving individuals affiliated with the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
