‘I will slap you!’ - Shatta Wale loses cool on stage, warns DJ

Ghanaian Dancehall musician Shatta Wale was captured visibly upset with his disc jockey, DJ Alinko, during his recent concert in Ho, Volta Region.
In videos circulating on social media from the event, DJ Alinko allegedly switched songs midway through Shatta Wale's performance, an action that appeared to disrupt the musician's flow on stage.
Clearly upset by the incident, Shatta Wale issued a stern warning to the DJ and questioned whether he thought they were on stage for fun.
“You think we are playing here. I will slap you,” he said.
The Head of Shatta Wale’s security team, Abonko, was also seen on stage making gestures towards DJ Alinko, which appeared to suggest that the DJ had earlier been cautioned about the situation.

The incident occurred on October 3, 2026, at the Youth Resource Centre in Ho, where Shatta Wale brought the Volta Regional capital to a standstill as he hosted ShattaFest in collaboration with Momofest.
The Dancehall sensation’s event has become an annual celebration following the overwhelming success of the 2025 edition.
The 2026 edition in the Volta Region also featured performances from several notable Ghanaian acts who joined Shatta Wale to entertain fans at the celebration.
One of the region’s finest musicians, Chief One, took to the stage to support the Dancehall musician, while dance groups DGL Academy and DWP Academy were also part of the event.
