Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has congratulated the newly elected national executives following the party’s national executive elections held in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
In a statement issued on Sunday, October 4, Dr Bawumia said the successful elections marked the completion of the NPP’s reorganisation ahead of the 2028 general election.
John Boadu was elected National Chairman after securing 2,888 votes, while Justin Kodua Frimpong retained the position of General Secretary with 4,486 votes.
Other elected executives include Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover as National Organiser, Mavis Hawa Koomson as National Women’s Organiser, Abanga Fuseini Yakubu as National Youth Organiser and Alfred Kojo Thompson as National Treasurer.
Dr Bawumia said the elections were conducted in an atmosphere of peace and transparency, adding that the outcome reflected the wishes of NPP delegates.
He congratulated all the newly elected executives and expressed the expectation that the new leadership, led by John Boadu, would immediately begin preparations to position the party for the 2028 elections.
According to him, the responsibility of rebuilding the party should involve all sections of the NPP, with every talent given an opportunity to contribute to the party’s campaign.
Dr Bawumia also pledged his support for the new leadership, saying he would provide the necessary assistance to help establish an inclusive system capable of harnessing the talents and experience within the party.
He stressed that no talent should be left out of the party’s preparations for the 2028 campaign, regardless of whether an individual emerged victorious or was defeated in the recent internal elections.
The comments come after more than 7,000 delegates gathered at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi to elect the NPP’s new national executive team.
The newly elected executives are expected to lead the party for the next four years as it reorganises its structures ahead of the 2028 general election.
