President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Alamein, Egypt, to attend the 8th African Union (AU) Mid-Year Coordination Summit and participate in the maiden Alamein Africa Forum.

The Alamein Africa Forum, which is being held alongside the heads of state summit, opens on Saturday with an address by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and a keynote address by Nigerian businessman Aliko Dangote.

President Mahama is scheduled to deliver the keynote address at a plenary session on “Investing in Health: Manufacturing and Regional Value Chains.”

The session will focus on health as a strategic economic sector and investment opportunity, with discussions expected to examine manufacturing and regional value chains.

The 8th AU Mid-Year Coordination Summit will take place on Sunday, bringing together African leaders to discuss issues related to economic integration and sustainable development.

President Mahama is also expected to hold bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit, including a meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

The two gatherings are expected to provide a platform for governments, businesses and financial institutions to discuss investment opportunities and strengthen partnerships across Africa.
