Elorm Aba shares thoughts on LilWin’s decision to work with Nollywood actors

Ghanaian actress Elorm Aba has shared her thoughts on filmmaker and actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as LilWin, following his decision to feature several top Nollywood actors in his upcoming international movie, Journey to Africa. Speaking in an interview with Fiifi Pratt, Elorm said the collaboration represents another important step in LilWin’s career and could contribute to the growth and expansion of Ghana’s movie industry. According to her, working with actors from Nigeria will also encourage Lil Win to use more English in the movie, particularly because the Nigerian actors may not understand Twi or other Ghanaian local dialects. She believes this could help make the production more accessible to audiences beyond Ghana. Elorm further praised Lil Win for looking beyond Ghana to bring some of Nigeria’s biggest movie stars into the country for the project, describing the move as a positive development for the Ghanaian film industry. “It is another step in his career that will help broaden the industry. Now that he is working with Nigerians, he will be compelled to speak English because they do not understand Twi, and this will help him reach an international audience. Kwadwo Nkansah is already well known in Ghana; the only thing left is for him to cross Ghana’s borders. So, what he has done is a good step,” she said. ‘Only Despite and Ibrahim Mahama can compete with my achievement’ - LilWin brags The comments come after several leading Nollywood actors arrived in Ghana to join LilWin for the production of Journey to Africa, which is being positioned as an international collaboration between Ghana and Nigeria. Nollywood veterans including Kanayo O Kanayo, Patience Ozokwo, Mike Ezuruonye, Charles Awurum, Zubby Michael and Destiny Etiko were among the stars who arrived at the Accra International Airport ahead of filming. The arrival of the actors has generated attention within the Ghanaian entertainment industry, with the project bringing together established talents from both sides of the Ghana-Nigeria movie industry. Speaking at the airport, LilWin expressed his excitement about working with the Nigerian stars and described Journey to Africa as a project he believes could make a strong statement for West African cinema. However, beyond the excitement surrounding the star-studded cast, Lil Win also used the occasion to raise concerns about the challenges facing Ghanaian filmmakers and the level of support available to local productions. He explained that his decision to bring actors from Nigeria was partly influenced by what he described as the reluctance of some Ghanaian actors and industry colleagues to support local movie projects. According to LilWin, he would have preferred to have more Ghanaian actors involved in Journey to Africa, but had to look beyond the country to assemble the cast he wanted for the production. He subsequently appealed for support for local film productions, particularly from Ghanaian actors and other players within the industry. @ghana_press_tv1 Elorm Aba Shares Her Thoughts on Lil Win’s Upcoming Movie Featuring Nollywood Stars Elorm Aba has shared her thoughts on Ghanaian actor and comedian Kwadwo Nkansah Lil Win as he brings several Nollywood actors and actresses to Ghana for his upcoming film production.
