‘If I’m found guilty, I could go to jail for 5 years’ – Reggie Zippy faces UK criminal court

UK-based Ghanaian musician, Reggie Zippy, has opened up about his ongoing legal battle, revealing that he could face up to five years in prison if found guilty of a criminal offence he insists he did not commit.
In a video shared on his social media pages on September 17, 2026, the musician said he was preparing to appear before a criminal court and wanted to document his situation in case he becomes unavailable online after the hearing.
According to Reggie Zippy, he has endured what he described as four and a half years of accusations, public criticism, and attacks on his character, insisting that he is not the person he has been portrayed as by his accusers.
“I posted online about two or three days ago regarding the fact that I will be going to court. I have been led by my spirit to share this with any of you who will view this,” he said.
He continued, “I’m going to court, and the court I’m going to is not a civil court but a criminal court. If I’m found guilty, the worst punishment will be that I will go to jail for five years for a crime that my perpetrators know I haven’t committed.”
The musician shared that the situation has taken a significant toll on him over the past few years, claiming that some people who once supported him have also been unable to publicly defend him against what he described as damaging allegations.
Reggie Zippy disclosed that there was a point about four years ago when he came close to taking his own life because of the pressure he was experiencing.
“The people who used to support me and some of the people who continue to support me will tell you that four years ago, I was close to committing suicide. I wanted to take my own life, and I came so close to it,” he shared.
He explained that his love for knowledge, reading, and research helped him stay focused during that difficult period.
He also said his thoughts about his responsibilities as a father and the possible impact his death could have on future generations helped him remain strong.

“My desire for knowledge, reading, and researching kept me going because I found out that as a father, if I harmed myself, the generations after me would have experienced that. my bloodline from both parents’ sides, we’ve never had any case of suicide. I stayed strong and I kept staying strong,” he said.
The musician further expressed disappointment over what he described as a lack of support from people he had previously stood by, loved and helped.
“I have lost trust in humanity. Whether you do them good or you stay neutral, even during my lifetime, the people I stood by, supported, loved and nurtured were not able to defend my name and integrity. I have no one to speak publicly for me and the one or two people who ever spoke for me were attacked,” he stated.
He also revealed that he has been convicted of breaching a non-molestation order and fears that the conviction could leave him with a criminal record for the rest of his life.
“I have still been convicted of breaching a non-molestation order, which means that I will have a criminal record in my name for the rest of my life,” he noted.
With his court appearance approaching, the musician said he was uncertain about what the outcome would be and asked his followers to pray that he would not be found guilty.
He added that if he stops appearing online after the afternoon of September 18, 2026, it could mean that he had been jailed, although he would not know how long his sentence might be.
“I pray that I’m not found guilty of a crime that even my accusers know that I haven’t committed. If you all don’t hear from me or see me again online after tomorrow afternoon, then it means that I have been jailed, but I don’t know the number of years,” he said.
Despite the challenges, Reggie Zippy said he does not consider himself a victim and remains hopeful that the difficult period will eventually come to an end.
“I’ve spent four and a half years explaining myself to people, and it’s so painful. Do I see myself as a victim? No. I feel like all this shall pass,” he added.
@reggiezippy1 If you all don’t hear from me or see me again online after tomorrow afternoon, then it means that I have been convicted to a maximum of 5 years prison sentence, but I’m still trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ and the rule of law in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧. I AM INNOCENT BUT TIME WILL DEFINITELY TELL 🙌🏾🇬🇧🇬🇭🙏🏾. #reggiezippy #tiktokdiaries2026 #itiswell #godwillmakeaway #fyp ♬ son original - Salomon 🇨🇩🇸🇳
