‘I’m not in love’ - Joey B opens up on choosing solitude

Ghanaian rapper Joey B has revealed that he is currently not in love and has intentionally chosen to remain single. He explained that he wants to focus on himself after learning valuable lessons from past relationships. Speaking on the Sincerely Accra podcast, the rapper said that while many beautiful women have been part of his life over the years, he believes this is the right time to embrace being single. “I’m not in love. I have to say it, I am not in love. There are a lot of beautiful women that have been in my life, and I just learned from it. I just feel like I have to be single for some time,” he said. Joey B was also quick to dismiss the notion that his single status means he is living a promiscuous lifestyle, noting that he has moved away from such habits because he believes they do not attract God’s blessings. “It’s not like I’m sleeping around either. I am not sleeping around like before. There’s no blessing in that, so if you’re a young boy and you sleep around or indulge in those activities, God won’t bless you. Stop it,” he advised. The rapper further reflected on maturity, stating that there comes a point in every man’s life when excessive partying, womanising, and other promiscuous behaviours lose their appeal. “As a man, you get to a point where partying, womanizing, weed, drinking… even when you overdrink water, you suffocate, so you need to look at it and minimize certain things,” he explained. Joey B also revealed that despite never smoking marijuana or drinking alcohol, he consciously distanced himself from situations involving women because of the attention he naturally receives. “Me, I never did weed, I never did alcohol, never in my life. But I am good-looking, so by all means women will come to me, and that is where I noticed I have to stay away from those things. That’s why I did it,” he added.
