'I told Akufo-Addo to give you the work but you sacked my driver' -Titus-Glover to ex-VALCO CEO

Aspiring National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and former Greater Accra Regional Minister, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover, has stated that the party lost the 2024 general election partly because of the conduct of some Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) appointed by former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. According to him, the behaviour exhibited by some of these CEOs was unacceptable and contributed to the party’s electoral defeat. Citing the former Chief Executive Officer of the Volta Aluminium Company (VALCO), Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu, as an example, Titus-Glover said he personally lobbied for his appointment but was disappointed when Aboagye Gyedu allegedly sacked people he had employed at the state-owned institution. Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM, an excerpt of which has been shared on social media, Titus-Glover claimed that his driver and more than 100 other employees he had helped recruit were dismissed shortly after he left the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council. “Aboagye Gyedu never knew that he would be the CEO of VALCO. I had to speak with the President to give him that position. When I left the President’s office, I called him and told him that the President was making me the Greater Accra Minister, so the next morning he should bring me his CV because I had lobbied for the position of VALCO CEO for him. ‘Gibberish talk!’ - Netizens tear into Bimbilla MP over ‘politically suicidal’ demolition remarks “When I took the CV, two weeks later, we went to Peduase for a Cabinet meeting. I told the President about the position, and he told me that he would give him the position. “Could you believe that the job President Akufo-Addo gave me gave me the opportunity to employ a lot of people, about 100? Aboagye Gyedu, I gave him a slot. "Do you know that less than 24 hours after I left for the Regional Coordinating Council, Aboagye Gyedu sacked all of them? He sacked all of them, including my driver. Today, go to VALCO and see how NDC people are employing staff. Some of the CEOs that President Akufo-Addo gave work to made us lose the election, he said.

NPP in Turmoil. Some of the NPP CEOs under Akufo-Addo caused the party's defeat. The worst culprit among them is Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu. I secured his position as CEO at VALCO, but he betrayed me by sacking all the party faithful I had employed before leaving office. pic.twitter.com/mqN7nSb50w
