'I wasn't supposed to be on Okesse 1's song' – Sista Afia

Ghanaian musician Sista Afia has revealed that her collaboration with rapper Okesse 1 was not planned. According to the singer, Okesse 1 approached her while she was at a location and asked her to feature on a song he was working on. Speaking in a recent interview on MX24 TV, Sista Afia said she readily agreed after listening to the song and falling in love with it. “Actually, I wasn’t supposed to be on Okesse 1’s song; it just happened. I was there and Okesse 1 called me and said he had a song which he wanted me to be on. I was like, ‘Sure, why not?’ He sent me the song in a few weeks; I listened to it and I loved it,” she stated. ‘I love the beef’ – Sista Afia reacts to Stonebwoy and Sarkodie’s feud Sista Afia explained that her love for dancehall music made it easy for her to connect with the song, despite many people not knowing that she has always been passionate about the genre. “People don’t know that I’m a dancehall girl. I love dancehall and I’ve been a dancehall girl all my life. If you come to my house, you will realise how much I love it. Because of that, it was just an easy flow for me and that’s how we got here,” she noted. She further admitted that she did not anticipate the massive reaction and attention the song would receive, describing the response as a pleasant surprise. “I didn’t expect the kind of reaction and attention the song had. It came as a surprise. I can do a lot more if that’s what the people want,” Sista Afia added. View this post on Instagram
