A Nigerian woman has shared how two men pursuing her romantically checked on her while she was having a hectic day at her shop, with one of them repeatedly calling to make sure she had eaten.
According to the woman, she was busy dealing with customers and other demands at her shop when the two men called to check on her.
She said one of the men was particularly persistent, calling her seven times during the day and repeatedly asking whether she had eaten.
“One of them called me seven times and was still asking, ‘Have you eaten? Have you eaten?’ I said no and did not show workings still,” she recounted.
She said the man’s concern went beyond simply asking whether she had eaten, as he also remembered that she had previously told him about her ulcer.
According to her, he urged her to eat to prevent the condition from returning.
“He said, ‘Oh, you know you said you have ulcer, eat oo, so the ulcer won’t come back,’” she added.
The woman said the repeated calls came at a time when she was already dealing with a particularly demanding day at her shop.
She shared the experience in a video posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, where she recounted how the two men took time to check on her despite her busy schedule.
The experience appeared to highlight the different ways people seeking romantic relationships may show care and concern, with the woman's story drawing attention to the persistence of one of the suitors in making sure she had eaten.
Her account has since generated interest on social media, particularly over the man's repeated calls and his recollection of her previous comment about having an ulcer.
A man called his female friends and asked one simple question: “Have you eaten?”
The Nigerian women: “No. Buy me food.”
The non-Nigerian woman: “You, Have YOU eaten? I can buy you food.”
