New Ashanti Minerals Commission office to host mining licence exams – CEO

The Chief Executive Officer of the Minerals Commission, Isaac Tandoh, has disclosed that the newly commissioned office complex in the Ashanti Region will serve as the designated centre for the Inspectorate Division’s licence examination. According to him, the initiative will reduce costs, save time and ensure easier access to mining licences for all qualified Ghanaians. He made this disclosure when the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, together with the Minerals Commission, commissioned the new office complex on Monday. Tandoh noted that the multipurpose office complex will also house a two-storey laboratory equipped with specialised technical facilities for mineral testing, sample preparation, analysis, quality assurance, research collaboration and regulatory monitoring. He said the facility would strengthen the Commission’s capacity to deliver reliable technical services, improve response times, enhance technical credibility and enable the efficient assessment of mineral samples. He added that the office complex also features a museum and public education facility that will showcase Ghana’s rich mineral endowment, mining history, geological features and responsible mining practices.
