Linda Ampofo, a member of the Church of Pentecost in the Brofoyedru District of the Kwadaso Area, Ashanti Region, has welcomed triplets at age 55 after 25 years of marriage and searching for a child.
In a JoyNews report, the long-awaited arrival of her children has been described by her family and church leaders as a miracle and an answer to years of prayers.
Linda Ampofo endured several miscarriages, most of which occurred around the fourth month of pregnancy.
Her last miscarriage was recorded in 2014 but she remained hopeful that God would bless her with children.
Throughout the years of waiting, she remained committed to her faith and actively served at The Church of Pentecost.
She regularly arrived early to clean the church premises and took part in church programmes, prayer meetings and the district’s weekly morning prayer sessions known as “Emergency.”
As the first child of her parents, the 55-year-old woman said she did not allow the experiences of her younger siblings to distract her from trusting God.
She drew strength from the teachings she received from the church and continued believing that her own testimony would come.
“I was born into the Church of Pentecost. I was taught that the God who worked miracles in the olden days is still working today. That kept me strong. Despite my situation, I was not discouraged. I continued to serve God and support His work while waiting for my miracle. I never stopped praying, and my pastors and some church members kept encouraging me that God would answer me one day,” she recounted.
Church leaders also encouraged her to remain steadfast in her faith and assured her that her age should not prevent her from believing in a change.
Her breakthrough came unexpectedly after she became unwell and visited a hospital. A doctor informed her that she was pregnant.
The news became even more astonishing when doctors later confirmed that she was carrying three babies.

“We were eight women believing God for children. Seven of them have had their babies, leaving me alone. Anytime I conceived, I lost the pregnancy. That was my biggest worry. I kept asking God in prayer what sin I had committed that He could not forgive, to bless me with even one child. But my pastors told me not to give up,” she said.
She further stated: “Last year, when the doctor told me I was carrying three babies, I started shaking. I was very surprised. Even in my youthful years, I could not carry a pregnancy, so at age 55, I doubted it. I asked the doctor, ‘With which womb am I carrying three children?’ But truly, on 13th January, God had mercy on me and blessed me with these children.”
The 55-year-old woman eventually gave birth to the triplets on January 13, 2026.
A naming ceremony was subsequently held at the Brofoyedru Central Auditorium on Sunday, July 6, 2026.
At the ceremony, Linda Ampofo and her husband, Deacon Kwame Ampofo, joined church leaders, relatives, friends and other members of the congregation to celebrate the arrival of the children and give thanks to God.
The new mother expressed her gratitude for what she described as God’s mercy after years of waiting. She also thanked the church leadership and members for standing by her through prayers and encouragement.
She urged women, especially Christians who have been waiting for children, to remain hopeful and continue trusting God.
Her husband, Deacon Kwame Ampofo, also expressed gratitude to God for sustaining them throughout their marriage and giving them the faith to persevere.
He admitted that the absence of children had sometimes been discouraging, but said he continued to believe that their dedication to God would eventually be rewarded.
According to him, the birth of their triplets has strengthened his faith and inspired him to serve God with even greater commitment.
Health professionals say conceiving naturally at 55 is highly uncommon because most women have already gone through menopause, a stage when the ovaries no longer release eggs, making pregnancy without fertility treatment very unlikely.
