Dear GhanaWeb: My sister made her husband run mad because of his wealth

Dear GhanaWeb, About a year ago, my sister's husband suddenly became mentally ill and was admitted to a psychiatric hospital. He has been there for over a year now. Nobody ever got a clear explanation of what happened. He's a very quiet man who hardly talks, so no one really questioned much. Everyone just accepted that he had lost his mind. They've been married for seven years and have three children. To be honest, I know my sister never truly loved him. He wasn't the kind of man she wanted, and she turned down his proposal for years. One day, he came back with money, bought her a car, and showered her with expensive gifts. She agreed to marry him after that. Throughout their marriage, I watched how she treated him. She never respected him. The way she spoke to him sometimes made me uncomfortable, but he always remained calm and did everything she wanted. He was genuinely a good man. He paid my school fees, supported my parents financially, and whenever we visited their home, I'd see him cooking, cleaning and taking care of the children. He never acted like those responsibilities were beneath him. When he became ill, I moved into their house to help take care of the children while my sister handled things. A few weeks ago, I overheard my sister talking to one of her friends on the phone. She bragged that she made her husband "run mad" because she wanted control of his wealth. According to her, that was the easiest way to take over everything he had built. The painful part is that she's not even growing the businesses or protecting what he worked for. She's spending the money carelessly and buying things that aren't even necessary. Since hearing that conversation, I haven't had peace of mind. I keep thinking about the kind man who treated me like family, paid my fees, and never hesitated to help us. If what my sister said is true, then he's lying in a psychiatric hospital while the person who should be protecting him is enjoying everything he worked for. I've been thinking about telling his brother what I heard. Maybe the family will investigate further or tell the doctors something that could help them understand what really happened. At the same time, if he eventually recovers, he may divorce my sister, and their three children will grow up in a broken home. I'm torn between protecting my sister and doing what I believe is right for the man who has always been good to us. If you were in my position, would you tell his family what you heard, or would you stay silent and let things take their course? I need your suggestions, please.
