Dear GhanaWeb: My best friend is secretly dating my father

Dear GhanaWeb,
I'm a 27-year-old woman and the only child of my parents. Four years ago, I lost my mother, and it was one of the hardest moments of my life. Since then, it has just been my dad and me, trying to rebuild our lives while carrying that pain.
I also have a best friend who is the same age as me. She has been part of my life for years, someone I trusted with my secrets and considered family. That is why what I recently discovered completely shattered me.
I found out that my best friend and my 49-year-old dad have been secretly dating. Neither of them told me. I had to find out on my own, and the betrayal hurts more than I can explain.
It wasn't just the relationship that broke my heart; it was the fact that the two people closest to me chose to hide it.
Part of me feels my dad moved on too quickly after losing my mom. Even though four years have passed, I still struggle with her absence, and seeing him with my best friend makes it even harder.
I can't accept that someone who used to sit with me, laugh with me, and support me could one day become my stepmother.
The confusing part is that I can see how much she genuinely loves and cares for him. She treats him well, and he seems happy around her.
Sometimes I even think that if she were a stranger rather than my best friend, I might have found it easier to accept their relationship.
Instead, I feel trapped between loving my father, grieving my mother, and losing the friendship I thought would last forever. I don't want to stand in the way of anyone's happiness, but I also can't ignore how uncomfortable and hurt I feel.
Am I wrong for not being able to accept my best friend becoming my stepmother? I don’t know how to handle this situation. I need your help.
