Residents of Foase in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region have been left in shock after a hunter reportedly discovered a 28-year-old drug store operator inside a coffin at a local cemetery.

The man, identified only as Foster, was reportedly found on Thursday, November 5, 2026, inside a coffin placed in an open section of the cemetery.

According to a report by adomonline.com on November 7, 2026, the discovery was made when a hunter passing through the cemetery spotted the coffin and became suspicious.

The hunter's dogs reportedly moved towards the coffin, prompting him to point his gun at it and threaten to shoot whoever was inside.

The threat allegedly forced Foster to emerge from the coffin.

A resident who narrated the incident said the hunter was startled by the discovery and decided to confront whoever was inside.

“After seeing the coffin, his dogs ran to the coffin, so the hunter pointed his gun at the coffin and threatened to shoot whoever is in it, only for the man to come out of it,” the resident recounted.

A herbalist who was also in the area, reportedly on his way to collect herbs, joined the hunter in escorting Foster into the community.

Their arrival attracted a crowd of residents, some of whom called for police intervention to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The discovery has since triggered speculation among residents, with some alleging that Foster had spent three days inside the coffin as part of a suspected money-making ritual.

However, these claims have not been independently verified, and the circumstances surrounding his presence in the coffin remain unclear.

Foster was subsequently handed over to the police to assist with investigations into the incident.
