Home - ‘We will be bleeding from our noses if we allow Mahama to go for a third term’ -Dome market woman
A market woman at Dome in the Greater Accra Region has expressed opposition to calls for President John Dramani Mahama to seek a third term in office, arguing that traders are struggling under his administration.
According to the woman, market women are facing difficult economic conditions and can no longer afford to support the idea of Mahama remaining in power for another term.
Speaking in an interview, she acknowledged that many Ghanaians complained about the high cost of living during the administration of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. However, she argued that despite the high prices at the time, people still had money to purchase goods, unlike the current situation, where traders are struggling to make sales.

She lamented that although the government claims prices of goods have reduced, the situation at the market does not reflect such improvements, as customers are unable to afford basic commodities.
“We will be bleeding from our noses if we allow President Mahama to go for a third term. Even in his second term, we are not seeing any performance. Mahama, we don't like him anymore.
“When Akufo-Addo was in power, we complained that things were hard, but people were still buying. Now, they say things have become cheaper, but people are not buying anything. We borrow money to purchase goods for sale, yet we still end up owing people. We therefore don't like Mahama's administration,” she said.
To buttress her concerns, the market woman pointed to some plantains displayed at the market, which she said were deteriorating due to a lack of customers and poor patronage.
She maintained that the situation at the market had become increasingly difficult for traders, insisting that the current economic conditions were affecting their livelihoods.
