pic 69238685 The Ghana cedi has maintained its position against the US dollar but weakened against the British pound and euro, according to the latest exchange rates published by the Bank of Ghana (BoG).

The central bank’s daily rates for Thursday, November 5, 2026, show the dollar’s buying rate unchanged at GH¢11.6542, while its selling rate remained at GH¢11.6658.

The pound sterling, however, gained against the cedi, with its buying rate rising from GH¢15.6271 on Wednesday, November 4, to GH¢15.6970. Its selling rate also increased from GH¢15.6439 to GH¢15.7127.

The euro recorded a similar movement, with its buying rate rising from GH¢13.0313 to GH¢13.0939, while its selling rate increased from GH¢13.0431 to GH¢13.1059.

The pound’s buying and selling rates increased by GH¢0.0699 and GH¢0.0688 respectively. For the euro, the corresponding increases were GH¢0.0626 and GH¢0.0628.

The movements mean businesses and individuals requiring pounds and euros for international transactions will have to spend more cedis to acquire the currencies.

Importers dealing with suppliers in the United Kingdom and European markets could also face higher foreign exchange costs if the trend persists.

However, the unchanged dollar rate provides some stability for businesses that rely on the US currency for payments for imported goods, raw materials and other international transactions.

Exporters earning foreign currency may experience varying effects depending on the currencies in which they receive payments.

The Bank of Ghana said its daily exchange rates represent average interbank rates used by commercial banks, based on transactions at the close of the previous business day.
